Hamas accuses Israel of using aid centers as death traps for starving civilians

The humanitarian crisis in Gaza has worsened as Israeli airstrikes continue to target civilian areas, including aid distribution centers. Hamas accuses Israel of using humanitarian operations as a cover for systematic killings. The Movement has called for international intervention and accountability.

AhlulBayt News Agency: The Hamas Movement has accused Israeli occupation authorities of turning the so-called “American-Israeli aid centers” into systematic death traps. According to Hamas, starving civilians are lured to these locations under the guise of receiving aid, only to be targeted with gunfire.

In an official press statement, Hamas condemned the policies of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government, stating that the use of starvation, targeted killings, and manipulation of humanitarian aid amounts to war crimes and genocide, committed openly in front of the international community.

The statement was issued in response to Israeli military strikes earlier today near two aid distribution centers in western Rafah and southern Gaza City, leading to the deaths of 14 Palestinian civilians. Hamas asserts that this incident is part of a systematic campaign of killings disguised as humanitarian assistance.

The Movement has called for an immediate halt to operations at these military-controlled aid distribution centers. Instead, Hamas urges the reliance on United Nations agencies and other neutral bodies to handle humanitarian efforts in Gaza.

Furthermore, Hamas has demanded an independent international investigation into these attacks, the prosecution of Netanyahu and other Israeli leaders, and urgent intervention by the UN Security Council to stop the ongoing genocide and lift the blockade imposed on Gaza.

In closing, Hamas emphasized that the genocide and war crimes committed against Gaza for over twenty months will remain a lasting stain on the conscience of humanity.
